Meaning |
Possible Reasons and Solutions |
1-1 | Thermal Fault | The motor current has been at the maximum value too long. *The motor may not be strong enough for the terrain (terrain to steep). *The wheels may be rubbing on the frame. The motor may be faulty. *Test the motor. *Check the motor brushes. The controller overheats. *Turn the unit off and let controller cool down. |
1-2 | Throttle Fault | Check the throttle wiring and connection. *Test the throttle. *Replace the throttle if defective. |
1-3 | Speed Pot Fault | Check the speed pot wiring and connection. *Test the speed pot. *Replace the speed pot if defective. |
1-4 | Low Voltage | Check the battery cables and connections. *Charge the batteries. |
1-5 | High Voltage | Batteries are overcharged. *If driving downhill slow down and turn lights on, if so equipped. *Test the charge to ensure that it cuts off when batteries are fully charged |
2-1 or 2-2 or 2-3 |
Main Faults | Check the controller wiring and connection. *Replace the controller. |
3-1 | Throttle Fault | The throttle is misadjusted. *Test and adjust the throttle. *Replace the throttle if it cannot be adjusted. |
3-2 or 3-4 |
Brake Fault |
#1 Problem! Scooter is in neutral
The brake is not engaged.
*Engage the brake.*Check the brake wiring and connections. *Test the brake. *Replace the brake if defective. |
3-3 or 3-5 |
Throttle Fault | Throttle was engaged when unit was turned on. *Turn unit off and turn on without engaging the throttle. |
4-1 or 4-2 or 4-4 |
Motor or Controller Fault |
The motor has a short *Check the motor wiring and connections. *Check the motor brushes. *Replace the motor. The controller has failed. *Check the controller wiring and controller. *Replace the controller. Scout |
