We know that requiring a signature on a delivery can be inconvenient- someone has to be at home and listen for the doorbell, etc. Our goal is to make sure what you ordered from us arrives in your hands in good shape.
As most online sellers including Amazon and Wal-mart does, we require a signature for high-value items including scooters, scooter battery packs and some orthopedic braces. We also will often require a signature at delivery when the address is a multi-unit apartment building. We do this because of rampant theft of packages left at the door and, in the case of apartment complexes, the challenges many buildings are having in managing large numbers of package deliveries. There's even a name for the theft problem- "Porch Pirates".
FedEx will attempt to deliver your item and if nobody answers the door, they'll leave a notice on the door letting you know that they'll be back- usually the next service day. (We say "service day" because that's not the same as the next calendar day. For example, FedEx Home Delivery delivers Tuesday - Saturday and not on Monday. So the next service day after Saturday, would be Tuesday.)
You would also be able to sign that door tag and put it back on your front door for when the driver returns to attempt redelivery. If you sign it, the driver would leave your package for you. Please note that by signing the door tag, you are assuming full responsibility for loss or damage of your package. You would be unable to file a claim for loss.
