What are the battery configurations for the Drive Medical ZooMe Flex folding scooter

This article pertains only to the Drive Medical ZooMe Flex folding scooter. It does NOT apply to the ZooMe Auto-flex folding scooter.

The ZooMe Flex scooter ships with one lithium ion battery pack, it is rated at 13 miles range. 

The lithium ion battery pack sits in a compartment in the deck of the scooter. In the picture for the scooter, it appears that there are compartments for TWO battery packs:

However, the battery pack that drives the scooter must be in the rear compartment. As the ZooMe Flex comes out of the box, the "battery pack" in the front compartment is a placeholder only. It's an empty "placeholder" box that does not contain batteries. It can be replaced with an optional, second battery pack to double the range of the scooter. However, in order for the scooter to be powered by this optional, second battery pack, it must be removed from the front compartment and moved to the rear compartment.
