When the joystick on a Jazzy power wheelchair is moved to the right, the expected action of the chair is that it would swivel to the right. When moved to the left, expected action would be that the chair swivels to the left.
But occasionally, the action of the joystick is backwards where movement of the joystick to the right causes the chair to swivel to the left, etc. This occurs because the motor connectors that are plugged into the controller are reversed. The solution is to unplug each and plug them into each other's connector on the controller.
To begin, confirm that the power to the chair is turned off and the battery charger is disconnected.
The controller can be found and accessed by removing the rear shroud on the chair. With the shroud removed, the controller, item A1 in the drawing below can be seen with the connectors plugging into the bottom of it.
Unplug the left and right motor connectors, reverse them and then plug them back into the controller.
Replace the chair shroud. That completes the repair.
