Battery gauge on certain Pride scooters appears not to be working

Occasionally, the battery gauge on certain Pride Mobility brand scooters will not show the batteries as fully charged even though the battery status indicator on the battery charger shows the batteries as fully charged creating the suspicion that the battery gauge  on the scooter is defective. 

It is possible that that the battery gauge is simply out of calibration. Here are the steps to perform to recalibrate the battery gauge: 

1. Plug the battery charger to the scooter in at night with the key removed from the scooter. 
2. After the usual eight to ten hour charging period, BEFORE unplugging the charger, insert the key and turn to the on position for one minute. 
3. At the end of the minute, unplug the charger. 

This will usually reset that gauge and it should show the battery fully charged with all LED's lit.
