The metal scissors mechanism and frame are one piece on all Pride VivaLift recliner chairs. Replacing either item replaces both. Follow these steps:
- Remove back of chair from base by pushing in clips and lifting off.
- Place the chair base in sitting (non-lift/non reclined) position.
- Turn the base of the chair upside down so that the chair seat cushion is resting on the floor. You may want to do this on a bedsheet or blanket so that the chair seat doesn't get dirty.
- Remove a total of 10 screws: 4 Black 7/16" screws that fasten the frame/scissors to the seat and six fastening frame to the footrest.
- Disconnect all wires and zip ties connected to lift frame and control box
- Remove the motors from the frame and install on the new frame using existing hardware. Replace zip ties with new ones or tape as needed.
- Replace the ten screws fastening the sides and footrest.
- Turn the chair base right-side up and reinstall the seat back.
These instructions do not apply to other Pride Mobility brand lift recliners.
